Kosi Bay

Beach vacations aren’t always what they’re cracked up to be. Even if the location is idyllic, like the deserted sandy beaches on South Africa’s Indian Ocean coast, just a stone’s throw from the Mozambican border, appearences can be deceiving. Magnus Hardy is about to find out how true that is.

During a visit to Kosi Bay, I did stumble across what looked like an abandoned army base, hidden in the coastal bush. I thought to myself, “There is a story here.” Once back home that thought kept nagging me. It became the opening chapter to an ill-fated novel. Eventually in ended up as the location for this story.

The story was published in the Spring 2011 issue of Mysterical-E.
